Endurance Academy held in Belgrade (November 2025)
Dr. Paliokas (DUTH) was invited by EIT Food network, the largest food innovation community to present #AntiDop project and its first results. The EIT Food Hub Workshop was organized by the local national office (DUTH for Greece). The presentation “Designing Training Missions for Athlete Support Personnel on Nutritional Supplements and the Prevention of Unintentional Doping” explained project’s aims and the WP2 results (questionnaires & Focus Groups). The audience consisted of around 55 to 60 people from the academic community which expressed great interest.
EFAD presented AntiDop in ISENC 2025 (December 2025)
Our dear coleagues Kasia Janiszewska, Anneke Palsma and Serge Pieters from The European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) presented the #AntiDop project at the International Sport & Exercise Nutrition Conference (ISENC 2025) in Manchester, UK.
Endurance Academy held in Belgrade (November 2025)
The #AntiDop project was presented to elite running coaches during the Endurance Academy held in Belgrade (21–22 November), a high-level event that brought together over 60 coaches from more than 30 countries. The session contributed to an exchange of scientific knowledge and practical coaching experience, with particular emphasis on key issues such as training methods, nutrition, supplementation, and anti-doping risks, highlighting the importance of education and informed decision-making in safeguarding athlete health and clean sport.
Open discussion with Athlete Support Personnel organized by AUTH (December 2025)
The team from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki strikes again and makes an introduction to the #AntiDop project to coaches, trainers, and fitness instructors in Thessaloniki. The audience demonstrated strong interest in the research outcomes, and the session fostered a constructive discussion on how these findings can be applied in daily training practice.
15th ICCE Global Coach Conference (November 2025)
Prof. Barkoukis presented the #AntiDop project in Athens at the 15th ICCE Global Coach Conference (20-23 November 2025). We extend our sincere thanks to the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) for providing the opportunity to showcase our project.
3rd Poster Prize in the 5th Int. Conference of Sport Sciences (November 2025)
Despoina Ourda and Maria-Theodora Gkountou, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) presented the #AntiDop project at the 5th International Conference of Sport Sciences in Thessaloniki. Their presentation initiated a lively discussion on the use of nutritional supplements, and their poster was awarded third place in the conference’s poster competition!
Working on the educational content development (6 November 2025)
At our recent project meeting in Malta, we made a plan for the development of media-enhanced educational content for our target audience (coaches, parents, and medical staff).
Meeting in Malta (6-7 Nov 2025)
The second AntiDop in-person meeting was organized in Malta, 6-7 November 2025. Sports Coaching Europe (SCE) hosted the meeting in Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology (MCAST).
AUTH presented our project in UNEFS, Bucharest (Nov 2025)
Dr Vassilis Barkoukis (AUTH) presented the Antidop project to social science researchers at the National University of Physical Education and Sport Science in Bucharest (UNEFS Universitatea Nationala de Educatie Fizica si Sport Bucuresti). Following a productive exchange, the university was invited to join as an associate partner and will promote it to its students.
Poster in EFAD Congress 2025
At the end of October, our project members Ria Vanderstraeten, Anneke Palsma, and Sousana Papadopoulou represented our #AntiDop project at The European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians – EFAD Congress in Malmö, Sweden. Their poster on “Educating Athlete Support Personnel to Prevent Unintentional Doping from Supplements” highlights the urgent need for certified supplements, practical education tools, food-first approaches, and the challenges of inconsistent regulations across countries. Athlete Support Personnel across Europe are committed to athlete welfare and clean sport, but need better, tailored training to address supplement safety and anti-doping education.
AntiDop in the dvs-Hochschultag 2025 event (Sept 2025)
Anne-Marie Elbe (LU) presented the AntiDop project at the dvs-Hochschultag 2025 – Sportwissenschaftlicher Hochschultag der Deutschen Vereinigung für Sportwissenschaft – at WWU Münster – Münster University.
New semester in LU with international connections! (12 June 2025)
The start of the semester at Leipzig University marked the arrival of Double-Degree students from the University of Thessaly (Trikala, Greece), part of the joint Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology program.
To mark their arrival, the students – together with several faculty members – took a moment to pose in front of the AntiDop project slide. A great symbol of cross-border collaboration and shared commitment to clean sport!

Kick-Off Meeting in Thessaloniki (13-14 Feb 2025)
The first physical meeting of the AntiDop consortium took place in Thessaloniki, 13-14 February 2025. Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki offered its premises to host the meeting.
